Welcome to our community resource – an information source for those concerned about our neighborhood.
Personal Watercraft Usage
Are you one of the hundreds of homeowners who purchased a home in Barefoot Lakes after being told by the sales teams that you could use your personal paddle boards and kayaks? Unfortunately they’ve decided that’s not allowed.
Peninsula Park
Here you’ll find a summary of the history of Peninsula Park, why residents are paying a $500/year mill levy, the timeline of the gift of the park to the Town of Firestone, and what rights residents have as compared to the general public.
Waterside Park Homes
The map above (pulled from www.barefootlakes.com in June 2020) references a large park in the Waterside neighborhood. Unfortunately after collecting healthy lot premiums, developers scrapped the park and it was cleared for future homes.
Metro District One
All parks and community spaces are governed by Metro District One – a board that no homeowners in Barefoot Lakes are allowed to sit on, yet which makes all decisions about the community we love to call home. What can we do about that?
“All I want is the community we were promised. The community we paid for. The community we deserve.”
As homeowners in Barefoot Lakes, our request is simple – the community developer (and contracted builders) should make good on the promises made to residents. We love our neighbors, we love our neighborhood. We don’t love being misled, taken advantage of, and deceived at every turn.
